Do you need to turn off the water supply for kitchen plumbing work?

Installation requires a cold water supply connection to the tank, a dedicated electrical supply (coordinated with your electrician), and correct venting and pressure regulation. Do you also repair kitchen taps and sinks rather than replacing them?
